Ian Richardson - Promises Kept
Place your trust in a reliable pair of hands
Choosing the right person to assist you in saying goodbye to your loved one is an important decision to make.
As a qualified and experienced funeral celebrant, my business and the ethos of ‘Promises Kept’ is built on the foundation of integrity, reliability, respect and trust. It is to maintain the wishes of your loved one and your family in providing a respectful farewell and celebration of life.
That is why I work collaboratively with you and your chosen funeral director to develop a funeral ceremony tailored to your specific needs.
I listen to you. Your words assist and guide me to craft, lead and deliver a funeral ceremony that tells the story and celebrates the life of your loved one, a story that is as unique as the person they were.

Unique Ceremonies
No templates. Every eulogy and tribute is written from scratch following our meeting and consultation.
Compassionate Guidance
My role is to support you through the funeral ceremony process and to ensure it reflects your loved one’s values, interests, personality and beliefs.
Professional Reliability
From our first meeting to the final goodbye, I am a steady presence you can rely on.
Integrity and Heart in Every Service.
My name is Ian Richardson, and I founded Ian Richardson - Promises Kept Celebrancy Services to provide families with a modern, dignified alternative to traditional ceremonies.
I am a trained celebrant and a member of the Association of Independent Celebrants.
From personal experience and from conversations with people who have been bereaved, it has informed me in building a business that exists on crafting and delivering a funeral that should be more than just a formal goodbye; it should be a tribute to a life story, a heartfelt reflection of a person’s journey.

Funeral Service
Whether held at a crematorium, cemetery or natural burial ground, my role, guided by you, is to follow the wishes of the person who has died. The funeral service and eulogy may be non-religious entirely with readings music and poems or may include partially religious elements such as hymns and prayers as required.

Celebrations of Life & Memorials
Often held after a private or direct cremation or at a venue that held a special meaning. These services focus on the joy and legacy of a life lived. They remind everyone that attends of how important that person was to them during the parts of the life they shared together. It can be in a formal or informal setting, or a place to remember them as time goes by.
